Queens day

Dear Friends and family,

A new update especially for you! Not about traveling this time. Because I have only one day off in 2 weeks I decide to take it a bit easier on the little free time I have left. So yeah I do have to work hard sometimes!!

Regular queen’s day party
Last Saturday did we throw a queens day party at my house. Because we where already talking about a party for a while, did I decided to schedule a date. After the date was set and the invitation card was made my housemates did the rest of the work.

The party was great with a lot of us in special orange costumes that gave us a warm welcome in the clubs. Because we went out late and the first club we where in closed did we decided to go to another one. This one was open till 7 in the morning what’s very rare in KL. For Dutch standards is this a normal time but here in Malaysia everything has to close at 3 am. But like everything ells here if you pay the right person the right amount of money, everything is possible!

The party was great, we had a lot of fun and felt a little at home wearing orange and going out with a group of fellow county man.

Official queen’s day party
Last Wednesday was the official moment to celebrate and why not doing this in the Marriot Renaissance Hotel! The Dutch embassy arranged a party with food and drinks. The food consisted poffertjes, bitterballen and haring. Because I was looking forward to eat these Dutch specialties was the disappointment much bigger because the poffertjes where cold, the bitterballen where exploded, the saus mosterd tasted like a mix of pinot putter and mayonnaise and the haring tasted like it was frozen in 20 years ago. A good try but I have to wait for my mom to give me the real Dutch experience again!

Ok it’s almost the end of my working day, early to bed tonight to be fresh for the exhibition tomorrow. My company has a stand on a 4-day home decoration exhibition. My task is to sell as much as possible what resulted in being the high roller yesterday!!
