Blog Labuan Dear Friends and family, After 2 day’s of hard working, yeah 2 days working means fitting in all the work in a short time, didn’t we sleep again. It was Friday night and we met up with Tim and Sander, 2 Dutch guys from Brabant who we met at Perhentian. After clubbing we jumped in the plane to Labuan. Our second island in 1 week time!! In Labuan where the other interns Luuk, Herman, Tim, Robert, Anne-Fleur and Thomas waiting for us. Labuan is a tax-free island situated on the other site of Malaysia close to Brunei and Indonesia. We were expecting the same as at Langkawi, which is also tax-free (you can find my previous blog about Langkawi on my site). Nothing like that! The island wasn’t used to get tourists and we where not able to find one of the activities they promote on their Internet page, like water sport and sport fishing. This was a small disappointment but this doesn’t mean the weekend was spoiled. With the good mood of all of us, a bar in the pool of the resort and an unforgettable waiter did it turned out very well. Fiefie the waiter: Fiefie is 19 years old, borne as a boy but found out he was more a girl or something like this. His face was white of makeup, he talked like a girl, had now power in his body, could hardly lift up his feet and wasn’t very smart. Placing an order was easy but you could wait for half an hour to get your drinks, sometimes he came back to ask again what the order was “same as last time, 8 beers”. I have met a lot of gey guy’s in Holland but never someone like him. It was truly a disaster but why not make the best out of it! While sitting at the pool bar Fiefie enjoyed the almost naked white boy’s and we played the game along. We laugh, had great fun and before we knew most of us needed to go home. Fiefie was standing at the door of the resort waving with his tissue. Daan and I went to bed for a power nap… that’s what we thought. I waked up in the middle of the night and got angry on myself. It was already to late to hit the bars…. So I went to the lobby of the hotel to see the game German – Spain, screamed together with the bartender to the projector screen, watched the stars at the beach and went to bed again. The last day Daan and I checked out the town, again we spent more time at the pool and took the plane in the evening. A very very relaxing last day… Now only 1,5 week of working and than the next trip to Thailand starts! Time has gone really fast, to fast but a new adventure is coming up!!
