Singapore

Dear Friends and family

In the weekend from 7 until 9 March I have visited Singapore together with Tim, Sanne, Robbert and Dagmar. Just before we left a Jihad member, who is responsible for the bombing at Bali, escaped from a detention camp so the police state Singapore was on code red. A perfect time to have a look around I would say :)

Friday
We arrived at 1 AM and hopped to the first bar after checking in at the hostel. In the bar we had some good company of older ugly guy’s and 18 year old locals. After a few drinks was it bed time.

Saturday
We got up early in the morning and took the Hippo bus around the city. This is a convertible tourist bus, which was handy because it was too warm to walk. We got off at the botanic garden so I could catch a turtle who tried to bite my fingers off.  After a dinner, where we could pick out our own fish from the aquarium, did we go to MOS. This club had a Mystery Land party so as a Dutch guy I need to show the locals how you dance on this. At least that’s what I thought! My dance moves where nothing compared to the crowd and didn’t become better during the night.

Sunday
The next morning at 8 we came back at the hostel to sleep for 2 hours. At 10 the hostel owner waked me up by hitting on my legs. Yeah this was the most disgusting guy I have ever seen in my life. I am surprised that he could walk around the streets and not getting fined for spoiling the street view. He missed a few toes and hat a weird infection on his feet and belly skin. To make it better he was complaining to us al the time, did he want us to walk bear feet on the same floor he did and he slept in our room as well. This was all so disgusting and bad, that it became a little funny as well.
The rest of the day I spend in little India and an overcrowded shopping mall to go back in the evening.

Conclusion
It was a great weekend, with a lot of fun, interesting things to see, there is a culture difference visible between Singapore and Malaysia, I have informed National Geographic that they can find a new specie in the Fern Loft Chinatown Hostel and they are strict on the rules, fines are high but it’s not that you can find more police officers on the street than in any other country.
